Notes
The photograph shows the Heronry Pond with a substantial amount of Pond Water Crowfot growing in it - quite a wonderful sight.
However - perhaps due to the frequent changes in water level that have occured since this time and perhaps the fact that the pond is now mostly 'topped up' with water from the London aquifer - it is hardly present at all now.
Water Crowfoot does still occur in the vicinity of Wanstead Park, although this is actually in the River Roding, and is almost certainly a different species.
