Insects photographed in the Wanstead area

The photographs are grouped mainly in family order. Each is referred to by its common name, and also by its scientific name. Note that the first page contains Springtails, which are not now classified as insects at all.

The large scale photographs have been labeled with the date photographed and the location. The majority of photographs were taken "in the field"; some - caught in the garden - are "in the home"!

Do please note that the correct identification of the species cannot be guaranteed. There may be mistakes, and I really would appreciate these being pointed out, if noticed.
