The first Holm Oak in the area was recorded in Wanstead Park by the Perch Pond in 1982. Since then, a significant increase has been noted over the years in all areas.

The species is now well-established in Wanstead Park, for instance, and on Wanstead Flats may be seen growing adjacent to many of the long-established London Plane trees along Aldersbrook Road.
