The remains of one of two Whitebeams known on Wanstead Flats, both in the East Copse.

The other can just be seen to the left. This photograph was taken in 2010, and the two dead trees did not remain for much longer.

In April 2022 a whitebeam was seen growing on the edge of Wanstead Flats, by Aldersbrook Road opposite the City of London Cemetery gates. It was some 3 or 4 metres high, consisting of two main stems and looking quite healthy. There is no reason to believe that it had been planted there, and is the only known specimen on the Flats.
