Notes
It was a pleasure to find this tormentil on Wanstead Flats for the first time. Just a couple of flowers, tucked down into some low, freshly emerging gorse. This was on the slope leading down to the west end of the Brickfield area - sometimes known as the Dell.
The closest - and indeed furthest south in Epping Forest - examples of tormentil that I know of are on Leyton Flats at about TQ 398882.
This being the case, I wonder if the Wanstead Flats examples have not been introduced accidentally, perhaps by the machines that have been used to try to clear the area of gorse in recent years.
