There was a population of rabbits in Wanstead Park for as many years as people could remember, and their burrows could be found in Chalet Wood. They could often be seen in the evenings at the top of the Glade, and their droppings were common on the Plain. This photograph is of a young rabbit with signs of Myxomatosis. By 2008 signs of rabbits were scarce in the Park, and indeed anywhere in southern Epping Forest, and by 2010 none were known. |
