This Hoverfly Chrysotoxum festivum is the first that I have recognised of this species. It was perched on the seed-head of a Flag Iris by the Shoulder of Mutton Pond. My guide to 'British Hoverflies', by Stubbs and Falk, states that it is never abundant, but is widespread in southern England. |
