I think that this is a leafcutter bee Megachile centuncularis, the Patchwork Leafcutter.

There are similar species which would require microscopic examination to determine, but this species is widespread and frequent in southern Britain and is one of the most frequent leafcutters to visit gardens(Falk, 2015).
