Megachilidae |

Notes
This species seems to be disputed as to genus at the moment. An alternative is Osmia. It has a strong preference for chalk and limestone areas, which makes it somewhat surprising that it has been found here, on Wanstead Flats. However, our area is not devoid of some of the plants that it collects pollen from, such as hawkbits, hawk's-beards and ragworts. Generally the species has a widespread and south-easterly distribution.(Falk, 2015) It was found and photographed on a Ragwort flower on Wanstead Flats by Rose Stephens, identified by BWARS and verified by Stuart Roberts via iRecord.
