Notes
This Wooly Aphid flew onto my sandal in the garden. I believe it is a species of Eriosoma, and possibly E. lanigerum.
This is known as the Wooly Apple Aphid, and as its name suggests, its host is apple and related species. Doubtless there are apple-trees in gardens nearby, but certainly there is a large and old pear next door.
